Certifications

Employees may be required to obtain certain Certifications in order to carry out or qualify for an employment position (e.g. In a school environment, all teachers are required to have obtained a basic first aid certification. However, for Science teachers, they must have obtained certifications in Chemical Management as well as basic first aid).

The Certifications module will track mandatory certifications that need to be obtained by the employee. Groups of Certifications can be setup and linked to employee and/or positions.

Mandatory Certifications are tracked by assigning an expiry date or the number of days before the Certification is due to expire. A Certification gap enquiry is available to track employees that have a certification expiry or not obtained.

Certifications can be linked to the Training Module where a course ID is assigned to an expired certification and processed by utilizing the existing Training options.

Certifications are setup using the following steps:

  1. Certification Types
  2. Source Types
  3. Certification Types linked to Certifications
  4. Groups of Certifications are created and linked to individual employees or assigned to positions.
  5. Associated Group/Certifications with Employees; Create a group of all the Certification that would apply to one or more employees.
  6. Associated Groups/Certifications with Positions; Create a group of all the Certification that would apply to one or more positions.
