Average Hours Rules

Enter a code (up to 4 characters) that represents the Average Hours Rules.

Enter a description of the Average Hours Rules.

This specifies the number of periods over which to calculate the average weekly worked hours; this field is related to the Period Type field.

• To average the worked hours over the employees lifetime with the company, enter zero. Otherwise enter the number of periods for the average.
• This field may be overridden by the corresponding field in an employee's Average Hours Summary window.

 

The Period Type selected is based on the value entered into the Periods to Average field.

Specify if periods with no pay generated will be included or excluded from the calculation of the Average Weekly Worked Hours.

Code	Description
EXCL	Exclude no pay periods in the average calculated.
INCL	Include no pay periods in the average calculated.

This field can be overridden by the corresponding field in an employee's Average Hours Summary window.

Enter the number of periods prior to an employee's paid-up-to-date that the Period to Average ends on.

This field may be overridden by the corresponding field in an employee's Average Hours Summary window.

 

Up to 12 Hours Type Codes can be nominated to be INCLUDED or EXCLUDED in the calculation of Average Worked Hours.

• When 'INCL' is selected in the field Incl/Excl Above Overrides, then the Hours Codes entered here are the only codes used in the calculation of Average Worked Hours, regardless of what is set on the Hours Type Codes screen's Include Hours Worked in Leave Accruals field.
• When 'EXCL' is selected in the field Incl/Excl Above Overrides, then the Hours Codes entered here are used in addition to all the Hours Types Codes that have 'Y' in the Include Hours Worked in Leave Accruals field on the actual Hours Type Codes screen.
• If an Hours Type Code has 'N' in the Include Hours Worked in Leave Accruals field, it will automatically be excluded. This means that you do not need to add it as an exclusion again.
• This field may be overridden by the corresponding field on an employee's Average Hours Summary window.

 

If any Hours Type Codes are entered in the Hours Type Overrides field, you need to specify here whether these codes are to be included (INCL) or excluded (EXCL) from the calculation of the Average Worked Hours.

Code	Description
EXCL	Exclude the Hours Types Override entries from the Calculation. All Hours Type Codes flagged with 'Y' in the Include Hours Worked in Leave Accruals field are still included in this calculation with this option.
INCL	Include the Hours Types Override entries. Only the Hours Codes entered are included in the calculation. All other Hours Codes are ignored even if the Hours Type Codes are flagged with 'Y' in the Include Hours Worked in Leave Accruals field

 

This field may be overridden by the corresponding field on an employee's Average Hours Summary window.

 

Are Prepayments and/or Rebanks to be included in the calculation of the Average Weekly Worked hours.

Code	Description
B	Include both Prepayment and Rebanks.
N	Do not include Prepayment or Rebanks.
P	Include Prepayments only.
R	Include Rebanks only.
