Restore Library
This window is designed to assist in restoring all or part of a Preceda Database using one of the backups performed from various processes.

There are a number of Backups of data which are / can be performed in Preceda:

PAYBEF / Before Payrun backup - This is an optional step which can be run before processing a payrun. This backup only saves the data entry records / Entry via Single Screen & Prepay/Rebank Entry data. This backup is environment specific, so only saves details for the current environment. Restoring from this option is not recommended unless you have been advised to do so by the Preceda Support team.
- PAYAFT / After Payrun backup - This is automatically performed during the Close Payrun process, and saves all the data entry, calculated results of the payrun, and the state of employee information prior to the Close of the Payrun. This backup is environment specific, so only saves details for the current environment.
- PAYSAV / Full database backup – This backup is performed when a user runs the process from the Save Library screen. Restoring from this option is not recommended unless you have been advised to do so by the Preceda Support team.
- PAYNON / Non-Payrun backup – This backup is performed when the Purge History Files is run. Restoring from this option is not recommended unless you have been advised to do so by the Preceda Support team.

The window displays each of the above backup types, listing the last date and time that data was saved. For PAYBEF and PAYAFT backups please note that this information is payrun environment specific, so will only show details for the environment you are currently in.

Note that only one (1) option is allowed to be ticked every time (i.e., when one of the restore options is ticked, the After Payrun option will be unticked automatically).
- When a restore of a database is in progress, users will not be able to access Self Service or if they are already logged in to Self Service, they will not be able to change any data.

This is selected by default. Restores the data saved during the After Payrun Backup (PAYAFT). Please note that this option should only be used if the Close Payrun process was only recently completed. If any additional processes have been run since the Close Payrun, please contact the Preceda Support team who can advise of any consequences of restoring from this option. |
This field is enabled when the "After Payrun" option has been selected.

Payrun will be restored back to the Masterfile Update Complete status, with all calculated payrun results available for checking and reporting over. |

Payrun will be restored back to Time Card Entry started, with all data entry available for updating. Changes can be made to employee information or data entry records before the payrun is processed again. |
When ticked, the other restore options will display.

Restores from the backup performed when the Purge History process was last run (PAYNON) Please note that this is a full database restore, so any employee maintenance, leave applications, month end processes etc which have been performed since the Save Library will be lost. |
