Employment Type
Employment Types are recognized by the Payrun and affect the taxing of employees. It is also used for statistical and headcount reporting in the Organisation module.

Rules and Guidelines
- Codes C, E, P T and T are provided by default.
- Only the description can be changed.
- Legislation requires the relevant employment type to be displayed on the employee's pay slip
- If using the Occ Super Criteria option, Employee Type can only be Permanent, Temporary or Casual.
- If other Employment Types are added, they are treated as Permanent employees.

This field displays the single character code that represents the Employment Type.

Casual EmployeesCasual employees are taxed over their nominated pay frequency and only one lot of addition (allowance)/Deductions is calculated regardless of the number of pay periods specified for the payrun. Tax weeks are calculated according to the pay frequency.
ExternalExternal employees are persons other than the employees of the company (i.e. pensioners). An allowance can be generated for the employee. People who are paid externally should be flagged as paid through auto pay in the Payment Details screen.

This field displays a 16-character description about the Employment Type that can be used with reports.
