Preceda Inbox

The Preceda Desktop Inbox was introduced in Preceda Version 12.1. It is visible as a Bell icon in the Header of the Preceda Application.

Where there are unopened messages in the Inbox, a number will display in red to the right side of the envelope to indicate the number of unopened messages.

When a user clicks on the Bell icon, the Inbox will pop up. This will contain a list of messages applicable to that user.

Messages for Managers and Administrators

An example of an Alert in the Inbox for a Manager is below.

  • Alerts Inbox Messages for Managers and Administrators are at a Summary Level (i.e. they do not contain detail about individual employees).
  • Clicking the 'View' option will take the user to the relevant screen (assuming they have access), that screen will then display a list of employees with records that met the criteria relating to that message.
  • If you want to provide Managers or Administrators with Inbox Alerts it is suggested that you ensure that they have access to the screens that the data relates to, so that that they can see the details when the messages appear.
  • If records that the message relates to have subsequently been updated, so that they no longer meet the criteria, they will no longer appear in the list in the detailed screen view.

Messages for Employees

As messages are at employee level the 'View' option used by Managers and does not apply.

  • Employees can view the full detail of the message using the Mouse over function on the message in the list
