Standard Roster

A Standard Roster defines the days of the week an employee is expected to work, and specific times of the day the employee is expected to punch in and out for the shifts and possible meal breaks.

Prerequisites

Rules and Guidelines

  • As the Standard Roster is not setup for any particular date, but for a standard week, it works well for employees whose roster does not change from week to week. It is only setup once and the system uses it for all weeks.
  • The expected in and out times for a standard week are defined, and the system uses this schedule every week.
  • Standard rosters make use of grace periods and rostered rounding, it rounds punches based on the rostered rounding method and factor setup in the employee's assigned Daily Rules profile.
  • Standard rosters are also useful in budgeting and in reporting exceptions such as absences and employees not clocked in.
  • A Standard roster can be setup and then assigned to a new employee as they are hired.
  • Assigning an employee to a standard roster allows for the tracking of the in punch for the day, in and out punch for a meal and out punch for the day. The system then uses the special rules established in the employee's assigned Pay Period Rules and Daily Rules profiles, to determine how to treat early and late punches.
