Users

All users who are required to have access to Preceda must be a member of the System Group Profile that owns the database. This Group Profile is Preceda by default.

Any user who is a member of the Preceda Group Profile and is not associated with an Access Profile has full access to all modules by default. This is true for users who have not been associated with an Access Profile or who have had the association removed.

When users are defined in Preceda, a System profile can be automatically created for them. This is controlled by setting of Position 7 in the Sysvar option *PEOPLE_PASSWORD.

Preceda allows the optional use of password security features beyond those offered by the System. The following options are set using Sysvar option *PEOPLE_PASSWORD.

• The password used to log in to Preceda must have a minimum length.
• The password must contain a defined number of digits (numeric characters).
• The user can receive a reminder that their password is due to expire and be offered the option to change immediately.
