Department Codes

Department codes have many uses, they are used in the Payroll Module, to allocate Salary and wages to specified areas in the General Ledger and can be used to reflect further breakdown in levels of reporting such as costing.

Rules and Guidelines

• Department Codes can be used in addition with Account Numbers and Levels 1 to 5 Codes.
• When deleting a Department Code, ensure it is not being used anywhere else in Preceda.  

Field Information

Code*

This is an eight-character code that represents the Department.

Description*

This is a description of the Department Code.

Short Description

This is a 16-character description that can be used with report.
