Time User Code Mappings

This window provides a means of overriding standard home costing data when being transferred into Payroll. All seven Time User Codes can be mapped to a cost level in Preceda. If not mapped they can be individually defined for use solely within Preceda Time.

Prerequisites

Rules and Guidelines

  • Time User Codes are established during the implementation to assist with mapping Preceda Time Records to Preceda records.
  • Time User Codes can be mapped to any of the following: Department, Account, Salary Code, LCOST1 and LCOST2, and Cost Levels 1 through 5. If LCOST3 is required to be used it must be noted that it can only be mapped to Time User Code 6.
  • Specifically they may be used for linking Preceda Time User codes to Preceda costing records, Account, Department or Salary Code, or for setting up unique level code records within Preceda Time.
  • The standard default home cost levels for the employee can be overridden at the transaction level so that correct cost accounting can be achieved in Payroll for that transaction.
  • When a Time User Code is mapped to a costing level in Preceda the following will occur:-
  • The employee record default value for the Time User Code set to the equivalent default value from the mapped costing level.
    • The default Time User Codes on the employee Time Management cannot be changed as they are mapped to Preceda costing levels.
    • Changing an employee's costing level record defaults in Preceda will automatically update the Time User Codes default values mapped.
    • If Time User Code 6 is mapped to Labour Cost Code 3, Time User Code 7 cannot be mapped to any code.
