Elapsed Time Entry
This screen allows you to manually enter time transactions into the system, and can log times for salaried employees in lump totals, rather than with a beginning and ending time, or by supervisors to log workers on and off jobs when logging exact times is not critical.
Prerequisites
- The system has been fully setup and configured and there is business requirements to use this means of data entry rather than the standard time punching process.
Rules and Guidelines
- This option can also be used to assign pay codes to the employee's time.
- Time Information can be entered for the current day or for any day in the employee's current period. When the user, however, enters a date and then tries to add data for that date but the employee does not have a Pay Period or Daily Rule attached to that date, the user will receive the following message: "Information cannot be saved, no Time Details for this date."
- Hours and pay codes for employees, while attributing them to Cost Level (Time User) codes can be entered.
- This is an easy way for supervisors to enter time breakdowns for employees into various Cost Level Code combinations. If a value is not specified, then it is assumed that their default value for that Cost Level Code is to be used.
- Elapsed Times can be entered into a single segment or broken up into two or more segments.
- The format of the fields, e.g. Elapsed Hours and others will be consistent with the format defined in Time configuration.
- The employee's default home cost level codes will be assumed if not entered.
-
The Save icon may be used to save the records which may be accessed later on this window unless the Process Entry has been completed.
