Allow/Deduct Step Rules

This window allows for the automatic adjustment of a standard deduction from an employee's pay according to the number of hours worked. The deduction code may have up to five steps and may be linked to any number of Hours Codes. If the deduction is added to an employee's salary option and the linked hours code is paid during the payrun, the deduction is applied to the steps defined and may be overridden during Time Entry.

  • Rules only apply if making deductions from an employee's pay based on the number of hours worked.
  • As many stepped deduction codes as necessary may be setup.

Field Information

Select the Hours Types that are required.

When the Hours Types are used to pay the employee, the value of the hours are used to then step the deduction to the correct rule.

Specify the step number; a record can have up to 5 steps.

Specify the maximum number of hours that applies to this step.

Enter the dollar value of the deduction that would apply to this step in the deduction.
