Data Extensions
Data extension details are optional and are primarily for ad hoc reporting purposes and may be used to store extra information in an employee's record. The maiden name or security access numbers, for example, can be stored using data extensions.
Prerequisites
Rules and Guidelines
- There are 100 data extension fields on the employee's record.
- When an employee is selected, any existing data extensions are displayed.
Field Information
Field Number*
This is a predefined field number.
- The data extension fields are numbered from 201 to 299. Each field number represents a different field where information can be stored in the employee's file.
Extension Data*
Enter a description for the field number or choose from the dropdown.
- When the value of the "Use Prompt List" field in the Field Numbers window is set to Y, the user will not be able to freely enter values in this field. Instead, a prompt list will be displayed.
