Version Numbers

When a transfer is processed, a new active employee record is created with a blank version number. The old version of the employee's record is retained, and is allocated a version number of zero. Any previous version is allocated a version number of one etc. with the oldest version allocated the highest version number.

Most details from the old employee record, including leave accruals, are carried across to the new active record. The year to date figures are set to zero, they are not carried across from the old record. The year to date figures for the active record are accumulated from the date of transfer.
